Tofu is healthy for you. Tofu is so versatile. Tofu is so easy to prepare. Tofu doesn’t taste like anything. Tofu this, tofu that. You’ve heard it all and you think you know until you come to Japan. Then it’s a whole different game. The playing field has just gone up a whole new different level.

But really, “what about tofu?”
In our April Workshop, we bring you a tofu expert, Madame Flora, who is a certified cooking instructor of Japan Tofu Meister Association and second-place winner of Tofu-making competition. She will talk about tofu, show us the different varieties, and then teach us how to cook with the different kinds of Tofu.

We will cover topics such as the history of tofu, a brief explanation of how tofu is made, and the different kinds of tofu available in the Japanese market. Participants will have the opportunity to taste, smell and touch the different varieties of tofu. Following the workshop, our tofu expert, M. Flora, will demonstrate how to work and cook with the different varieties of tofu. Finally, we will enjoy a vegan lunch made of the different tofu dishes that M. Flora prepared for us.
