Chocolate Workshop

Yesterday we had our Aphrodisiac Valentine’s Chocolates Workshop and it was so much fun. We had a full house, with people on the waiting list but no cancellations and no wonder why. Everyone loves chocolate!!! Besides, it’s Valentine’s Day! And even though it’s a highly commercialized holiday, there isn’t a better excuse to celebrate love, friendship, and appreciation. AND we get to eat chocolate at the same time! So YES to Valentine’s Day!!! The cool part of our workshop was also learning about the essential oils and their aphrodisiac qualities.

Our teacher, very experienced and knowledgeable about essential oils, taught us about love alchemy, the different properties of oils such as cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, clove, basil, cardamon, etc, and how they promote better chemistry. And just in case the chocolates didn’t work, as a bonus, we also got her special “gypsy’s love potion” made with red wine.
We made orange and cinnamon chocolates with high-grade essential oils and a big bar aphrodisiac raw chocolate with cardamon and roasted nuts. Both absolutely delicious!

Personally, one of my favorite things was experiencing all of the cultural exchanges from everyone in the workshop. We had participants from Peru, Spain, England, Mexico, and Sweden. Everyone was talking, laughing and making humorous remarks, really enjoying themselves. Sometimes so much we forgot how many spoonfuls was that? or was it teaspoons or tablespoons? And our teacher had to kindly repeat over and over. LOL
It was really interesting to see the different reactions and different types of comments from everyone, reflecting their cultural backgrounds and identities. For me, it was a very enriching experience, and it reminded me of how small this world it is we live in, and how something as simple as “chocolate” can bring us together to share experiences amongst our differences.

“I really enjoyed the workshop, the company, but more the chocolate! “
